Studies, Witness

Staged 2017–21, Katy Perry World Arena Tour

“Katy Perry’s Witness arena tour took place within a giant LED eye. Dancers wore TV heads and giant mouths full of eyes. We explored the possibility of dancers wearing self-striking matchboxes for the song ‘Firework,’ but this idea fell by the wayside. Katy had campaigned for Hillary Clinton, and our early studies considered the form of the megaphone, the hand of the activist, and the cerebral architecture of an evolving consciousness.”
