Urban Engagement Timeline

2017; Drawing by Collaborative Architecture (Mumbai, India); Updated for exhibition 2022

Embodying a new type of open democratic place for India’s capital city, the team proposes an approachable architecture and site design that demystifies the museum. The building, a series of segmented volumes, is less imposing than typical public buildings and amenable to the nonsymmetrical site. Located amidst dense urban fabric, the surrounding park, open to residents 24 hours a day, offers respite and accessible public space.
