MONA CHALABI is an award-winning writer and illustrator. Using words, color, and sound, Mona rehumanizes data to help us understand our world and the way we live in it. Her work has earned her a Pulitzer Prize, a fellowship at the British Science Association, an Emmy nomination, and recognition from the Royal Statistical Society.

SITU Research is a visual investigations practice focused on merging data and design to create new pathways for justice and accountability. Brad Samuels, a participant in Making Home—Smithsonian Design Triennial, is founding partner of SITU, has overseen SITU’s work with legal and advocacy organizations including The International Criminal Court, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, The Associated Press, Frontline, The United Nations, and many others.
