Michelle Lanier

MICHELLE LANIER is a folklorist of the Black South, rooted in AfroCarolina. A faculty fellow at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, Lanier also leads twenty-seven museum spaces as the director of North Carolina Historic Sites. Lanier believes in the transformative power of place as witness.
