Joyce Hwang

JOYCE HWANG is an architect and educator. For nearly two decades, she has been developing projects that incorporate wildlife habitats into constructed environments. Hwang is a recipient of an Exhibit Columbus University Research Design Fellowship, Architectural League Emerging Voices Award, New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Fellowship, and a MacDowell Fellowship. Her work has been featured by the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and exhibited at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Matadero Madrid, and other venues. She is an associate professor of architecture at the University at Buffalo SUNY, director of the architecture and research practice Ants of the Prairie, and core organizer for Dark Matter U.
