Betty Pancho
BETTY PANCHO grew up in the village of Kawulk on the Tohono O’odham Nation, helping her parents tend their nearby farm and gather- ing the wild foods of the desert. As an adult, she spent forty-seven years working for the tribal government while continuing to harvest and cook traditional foods for the nourishment of her family and the community through her work with the Tohono O’odham Community Action (TOCA).
