ADAM RICHARD ROTTINGHAUS is an author, educator, designer, brand strategist, and media theorist with over 20 years of industry experience in technology and marketing. He is currently an Associate Professor of Strategic Communication at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. His first book, Upgrade Culture and Technological Change: The Business of the Future is available in hard copy, paperback, ebook, and Chinese language editions. The first edition of his textbook, Strategic Communication: A Visual and Practical Guide will be available during the 2025-26 academic year. He is also writing an academic/popular crossover book on advertising fraud and emerging technologies titled, Scam Likely: Learning to Trust in the Coming Age of Media Deception, which tells entertaining stories of high profile fraud cases while offering lessons for the public to protect themselves against scams they will likely encounter as artificial intelligence automates more and more aspects of media content production and distribution in the coming years.
