With a keen eye toward the future and an encyclopedic knowledge of the past, Katherine (American, b. 1945) and Michael McCoy (American, b. 1944) have transformed the discipline of graphic design through their long tenure at Cranbrook Academy of Art and their insightful design criticism. Collectively, they have received more than 200 awards for their work in graphic, product, signage, exhibition, and interior design, as well as for their pioneering, multidisciplinary design-education methods.
