Yeohlee Teng’s (Malaysian, b. 1955) striking clothes are noteworthy for their bold geometries, functionality, and demonstration of her forward-thinking interest in “zero-waste.” Here, a sarong—the “perfect typology,” according to Teng—is removed and folded on the runway to fit perfectly into the rectangle of cloth from which it was first generated.
